MAGNET Trio

‘MAGNET Trio’, featuring Stephen Magnusson (guitar), Eugene Ball (trumpet) and Carl Pannuzzo (voice)

MAGNET Quartet

MAGNET is a new project, the brain-child of guitarist/composer Stephen Magnusson as a creative collaboration with fellow composer/improvisers, Eugene Ball, Carl Pannuzzo and Argentinian drummer, Sergio Beresovsky.

MAGNET Quartet

l-r Eugene Ball, Sergio Beresovsky , Stephen Magnusson, Carl Pannuzzo. With Sergio currently in Argentina, the MJFF concert features the trio only

Currently in Argentina, Sergio is unable to complete the quartet. His absence offers the trio version of the group a way to re-interpret the original repertoire again, as they do every time they perform, taking often a simple melody and building it from their ears up.

Magnusson’s compositions find new directions from within and extensions beyond, treated sensitively but with abandon by these master musicians – fearless and inclusive of every emotion and sound…

The interaction and harmony is at the deepest level of collective improvisation;the moments made as pure as if they had been composed over crystal.
